Poem Title: The Wake Of Silence
Written By: Poet Nazir
Year: 2021
We woke
To clean the tears we feared
We saw as good people taken to soil
In the wake of a hobby the amor calls a riot
When the gavel of power is hit
The people in suit sit and have a treat
Unconcerned, empty-headed
Whoever sent them; should take the mantle.
With the forces imposed
Their rights were rightly disposed
Even when the anger aroused
The calmness they sought for, angered their cry.

What they aimed at, was a fertile land
A land they’ll live to hold with their hand
But that contradicts with ‘their’ wit
Till when, the natives shall bethink; no one gives a dang.
If we fight for food
They call it battling the odd
If we fight for life
They call it ungratefulness.
The nation best beautiful when shattered
As presentable as it is; ‘of peace’ they say
To put it first, it is, but yourself
The order laid by the greed in suits.
